History

TV Sundram Iyengar, born in 1877, became a pioneering figure in India’s automotive industry. Inspired by a call to entrepreneurship, he ventured into various businesses, from timber to launching a bus service in 1912. His company’s legendary punctuality set the benchmark for quality, forming the foundation of the TVS Group

In 1919, Sundram expanded into automotive repairs and parts, eventually securing dealership rights for General Motors in South India. His business grew into TV Sundram Iyengar & Sons, a leader in vehicle sales, services, and finance. Following independence, TVS adapted to government policies supporting indigenous industries, partnering with local manufacturers to ensure growth.

Building on this foundation, Sundram Fasteners Limited was established in 1966 as part of the TVS Group to manufacture high-quality automotive fasteners. Over time, it expanded its product line to include critical parts for diverse sectors such as aerospace, defense, and energy. Today, Sundram Fasteners is a globally recognized supplier, with a reputation for quality and innovation, ensuring TVS’s legacy continues to thrive across industries.
